How are youuu? I hope you started this day with enthusiasm of how to be gentle and kind with yourself and all that unfolds in such a way you would treat someone that you cherish deeply. I have been traveling these last couple of weeks in Spain and Portugal by train, bus, car, scooter and my favorite form of transportation.. walking. Firstly being aware that the languages spoken around me are not my native tongue demands a different kind of attention. It requires an intuitive sensitivity if you want to have any understanding of the people. It invites a constant state of mindful presence, mindful listening and mindful caring both with yourself and others.

Then there is something super rich about walking as a pilgrim. When you are walking 20 - 30 km a day, especially on the Camino where a good portion of time is spent on ancient trails and forests that have not been developed, wow, heaven! Then there are times when the mind plays torturous games and agitation rides super high. Like "what the hell am I doing, I'm tired and hot" ..hell! You are walking in a humbling feast of nature's beauty as well as a sufficient amount of ugliness in the name of progression. In the world right now there is enough craziness to keep us wrapped up in fear to never want to get out of bed. And there is also a tremendous amount of beauty and extraordinary human kindness on the planet to keep you in a state of awe for every breath we breathe. My friend Daniela is always saying "Love everything, even the things you don't like." This practice will lead you to nothing but goodness. ;-)
